The ISAPS-meeting in Lugano
paid tribute to the achievements of aesthetic surgery and the Society's work
over the last 20 years. Tom Biggs, president of the ISAPS, emphasised in his
invitation that it had never before been possible to gather as many plastic
surgery luminaries as were in Lugano (September 3.-6., 2003)
All areas of aesthetic
surgery were discussed in detail, all highlights of the last two decades.
During the faculty dinner, the Swiss doyen of plastic surgery, Rudi Meyer,
gave his ceremonial address. He is one of the few internationally
acknowledged rhinoplasty experts. His main work about secondary rhinoplasty
("Secondary Rhinoplasty", Springer-Verlag) was published recently.
